Lesson 6: Introduction to PowerPoint and converting PowerPoint to video (technical).
This lesson will give students an interact guide throught the more technical aspects of using PowerPoint including using audio and narration. They will also be shown how to use www.authorstream.com to upload slideshows and convert them to video.
Lesson 7: Designing PowerPoints using storyboard and script.
Here student will use storyboard templates to outline their slide show and script narration. Teacher will model a simple storyboard highlighting that all three modes, linguistic, visual and audio need to be represented. Students use Draft Proposals constructed in lesson 4 to guide their design.
Students use storyboards to create PowerPoints incorporating text, images (developed from Draft Proposal images in corresponding Creative Arts lessons using Tux Paint) and audio (music and SFX).
Lesson 9: Recording narration over PowerPoints, converting to video and uploading to school website.
Students use scripts to record narration over powerpoint. Focus on elements of delivery, tone, and accent looked at in lesson 4.
Lesson 10: Presentations and peer assessment using criteria.
Teacher uses interactive whiteboard for whole class viewing of each groups presentation. Both teacher and students use criteria to peer assess. Feedback is given by students and teacher.
